The Ernie Fund Travel Grant

This is a special travel grant given out by Brad Modesitt and Mountain Whitewater!

The Ernie Fund is a $700 grant that is awarded to the best travel plan presented to Mountain Whitewater. The grant application must be presented to Mountain Whitewater by October 1st of each year and will then be awarded to the winner at the end of October.

The idea behind the grant is to allow for applicants the opportunity to travel cheaply and with the environment on whatever trip they want to plan. Brad came up with the grant after his canoe trip from Fort Collins to New Orleans, as chronicled in his book, “Taking the Old Highway.”

To apply for the travel grant, applicants need to have a travel plan outlining destinations, time frames, budget and some other basic information.
